Study for watercolor

Watercolor on paper

It’s February already? It doesn’t feel like February in New York City–it feels more like late spring with 60-degree weather, no complaints here. In spirit of warm weather and spring, today’s painting is of sprawling grass and leaves; a study for a larger watercolor and ink painting, I am planning the final work this weekend. I got the inspiration from one of my digital photographs.

I think the watercolors will be great for the lighter tones and detail and ink for the deep, rich blacks.  This photograph was taken in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.
