This has an unintentional earthly or globe effect. When I sat down last night to paint this, I was thinking a lot about a video clip in Inter-Action. In the clip, the camera focuses on a leaf with a varying depth of field and the result is a fold cells and veins in the leaf. This painting is an abstraction of that–with groups of cells and “veins” playing with the negative space of the page.
